Jumping spiders apparently use blood as a perfume to attract the opposite sex. The jumping spider Evarcha culicivora, which dwells near Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa, hungers after mosquitoes engorged with blood. Destructive jellyfish spotted off Mulls coast

The presence of the mauve stinger jellyfish (Pelagia noctiluca) has been confirmed off the North West coast of Mull. The jellyfish was last seen in the area in 2007 when it caused widespread damage to fish farms through out the area and further afield.
