This mind bender may never occur, and the U.S. will fall rapidly to third world and perhaps anarchy in its thrashings and last gasps for survival in a world stripped of fast cheap readily available resources, or an "ObamaMiracle" will occur, and the world, even the Chinese will get on the eco-boat and the planet will do better! The science exists, the technology exists, and there are pockets of political will, but I think this one is for the intelligentsia of China to put into action, a few generations of post-grad students from now!
