Just a little FYI, the first two fish are “Sheepshead Drum” Scientific Name: Apoldinotus Grunniens, I suppose it might have somehow been named by scientists even if it hasn’t been identified. But you know, facts are whatever.

PS I have a couple of these frozen in the deep freezer from the last time i went fishing. They are native to the fresh and brackish waters of the gulf coast region of the USA. Also, they are absolutely delicious.

  • Rashaad July 3, 2009

correction: Scientific name is Archosargus probatocephalus

  • Leion July 3, 2009

    The tongue looks human too

  • Eric Kauffman July 3, 2009

This seems like an excellent job with photoshop to me… This can’t be real, right?

  • none July 3, 2009

my first reaction is that this is a fake.

  • scottdelem July 3, 2009

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Not real. It’s a fake.

  • marcelo90 July 3, 2009

    Fake, easy.

  • Jess July 3, 2009

Holy guacamole. Give them a million years to evolve and they’ll take over the world!

  • netadmin July 3, 2009

    that sh*t looks photoshopped.

  • scott July 3, 2009

    definately has gingivitis!

  • Steve Metcalf July 3, 2009

    Dude needs to brush.

  • racy_rick` July 3, 2009

This proves it. We aren’t descended from apes, we are descended from weird fish! Damn I knew it. Everyone was wrong!

  • Drew July 3, 2009

The pictures do not appear consistent with each other in terms of denture. And human-like teeth are a specific pattern of incisors and molars, not simply random rows of enamel.

  • Heather July 3, 2009

Looks like a sheephead fish. I caught one of those yeeears ago, they’re creepy as hell but not that uncommon.

  • illustrator art July 3, 2009

It’s a Pacu. They found another one in South Carolina. Some idiot released their aquarium fish into a local pond or stream.

  • WTF? July 3, 2009

My apologies for the previous bad link. Try this one http://www.wildflorida.com/wildlife/fish/Sheepshead.php

  • Natalie July 3, 2009

This is called a sheepshead fish. They always look like this.

  • Dan July 3, 2009

    Sheepshead fish

  • Dan Brown July 3, 2009

Eww, it looks like the baby from “Eraserhead.”

  • Zac July 3, 2009

Seriously… a “New Global Warming Effects” page? So obviously a picture of a new species with teeth wouldn’t be posted unless you were somehow trying to link it to Global Warming. The question is, can you really link it without any evidence? Just the other day my neighbor was watering the lawn in the afternoon. Today I saw a dead bird in my law! Simply stating two things doesn’t mean they are related? You do realized that there are still vast majorities of undiscovered and categorized species. So until you can find some evidence of a link. This is either a new species, or mutation that could be caused from anything from as simple as a transcription error. Science is awesome like that, learn it.

  • creatorswhim July 3, 2009

    It’s Mr. Limpet!

  • courtney July 3, 2009

That’s a Pacu. It’s a relative of the piranha. As a frugivore, it’s diet consists mainly of fruit and plants, hence the flat “human like” teeth. This is a fresh water fish that has been around for thousands of years. And the photos above are from a national geographic photo shoot.

  • nietzsche July 3, 2009

These are some rather dubious photos. Teeth like that endow the fish with no evolutionary advantages. Now, for the proclamation: PHOTOSHOPPED!

Please understand that I do not use the word often.

  • cs July 3, 2009

The fish is a Pacu, a relative of the piranha, which lives in south america. It only eats plants, hence the flat teeth. It’s been around for hundreds of thousands of years. nice try.

I HATE when people say ‘fake’ in the comments, it’s always a waste of time. But… I can’t help but call this fake. Sorry Interwebs, I had to.

  • Daneil July 3, 2009

Is that fish called Pacu because I watched the show Hooked on National Geographic Channel and they caught a similar fish with human-like teeth?

  • Outlaw July 3, 2009

It’s a Photoshop, also the last picture is of a different fish then the first two

  • THATguy July 3, 2009

Why does everyone immediately say that a photo is photoshopped?! It has human-LIKE teeth, as explained above due to the fact that it has a herbivore diet as mentioned above. Just because someone claims it as “human-like” doesn’t even insinuate the notion that it has any ties with humans, so why is this sooo impossible to most people that they believe it’s photoshopped. It’s from NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC…it’s definitely not photoshopped. Whoever said it was photoshopped is retarded, has no faith in evolution, and should kill themselves…please–because you hurt the further advancement of science and the human race itself.

  • virt July 3, 2009

Is he well endorsed? Does it look human too.
First there were apemen from planet of the apes, then UFO’s and aliens, now the fishmen. Will the fishmen take over our planet? And why does this happen only in USA?

  • Ebo July 3, 2009

Still, has better teeth than a meth head right?

  • Ruggy July 4, 2009

One time I pulled up my fishing line, and on my hook was a CDROM of Photoshop CS. I called Adobe, gave them the serial number and found out it was registered to a Mr. Kilgore Trout. So these fish are definitely enhancing themselves digitally, no doubt about it.

  • Not A Moron July 4, 2009

Anyone with half a brain could do a quick google and see that

A – This is a common variety fish found in the southern region of the United States.

B – The large flat teeth are particular to it’s dietary habit.

  • Rupert Megalock July 4, 2009

    Real. Look it up, people.

Next someone will photoshop ears on a fish.

  • Daniel Valentin from Puerto Rico July 4, 2009

Aaaah, it seems The Joker has been busy! To the Batmobile, Robin!

  • Justin July 4, 2009

Definitely NOT a fake- do your research. Just lookup Sheepshead fish and Pacu fish on the Interwebs

  • goldie July 4, 2009

They’ve got it all wrong. It’s a fish-bodied man! Arrrgghh run for your lives.

  • Duh July 4, 2009

This is not a fake. There are many species of fish with “human” styled teeth. Guess what, flat teeth are not unique to humans and apes.

Steven Hawkings is right, the next evolution of people are those that know, and do not know. These photos are a good way to differentiate those that “do know”. Congratulations to all those that are now more evolved than the persons that think this is a fake, or think that this is proof of global warming.

    Yeesh!

  • Morgan July 4, 2009

I to thought it was fake at first but it is real. Go to this National Geographic website and see for yourself. http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/series/hooked/4255/Videos/06848_00?#tab-Photos/1

Creepy. And do a photo search for Pacu and you will see other pics.

  • Jsaint July 4, 2009

Oh,they caught Mr Limpet. That fish is a hero!
And sounds oddly like Don Knots.

  • Sam July 4, 2009

The fish does not have human teeth, It has human looking teeth. And it has been identified by scientists. This fight against global warming just got little harder!

  • Westward Wind July 4, 2009

That fish has been in existence for thousands of years – with those very teeth intact. They’re cousins to piranha and have those teeth because they mainly eat fruit. Which means Al Gore should keep out of the water if he ever spots a school of them.

Global warming. You and this website are the reason we’ll be paying an extra $1500 in taxes next year. On a completely BOGUS and MADE-UP claim.

  • dan July 5, 2009

I fail to see what this has to do with Global warming >>

  • Terri July 6, 2009

That’s not a fish, it looks like an underdeveloped merman to me.

  • Terri July 7, 2009

Oh,that’s not a fish. It’ an underdeveloped merman.

  • Lai-Lai July 8, 2009

Yeah, 3 or 4 rows of layered human teeth.

  • mundobellas.blogspot.com July 11, 2009

This is really weird. I firstly thought it was a fake but I finally could discover it’s a real fish named Pacus.

  • Steve Edwards July 11, 2009

It looks like a fake fish but there is people saying is a real one.
